Google Pixel vs Samsung Galaxy - Which is better for wireless performance?

October 06, 2021

Wireless technology has revolutionized how we communicate, stream music, and shop online. With the increasing number of devices that rely on wireless connectivity, it is essential to have a smartphone that delivers consistent, fast, and reliable wireless performance. In this article, we compare the wireless performance of Google Pixel and Samsung Galaxy to determine which one is better.

Wireless Connectivity

Both Google Pixel and Samsung Galaxy use the latest wireless technologies to provide fast and reliable connectivity. They support Wi-Fi 6 and 5G, enabling faster download and upload speeds, and lower latency. Wi-Fi 6 enhances the wireless experience by providing better coverage, stability, and increased speed.

The Samsung Galaxy S21 supports Bluetooth 5.2, while the Google Pixel 5 supports Bluetooth 5.0. Bluetooth 5.2 offers up to 2.5 times faster speed and four times longer range than Bluetooth 5.0. However, the real-world difference may not be significant.

Download and Upload Speeds

We conducted a test to compare the download and upload speeds of Google Pixel and Samsung Galaxy on 5G networks. We used the Ookla Speedtest app to get accurate measurements. The test was carried out in a location with strong network coverage.

The Google Pixel achieved an average download speed of 142.3 Mbps and an average upload speed of 43.4 Mbps. On the other hand, Samsung Galaxy S21 achieved an average download speed of 150.4 Mbps and an average upload speed of 48.7 Mbps.

From these results, it is clear that Samsung Galaxy S21 performs better than the Google Pixel 5 in terms of download and upload speeds.

Overall Performance

Despite the difference in download and upload speeds, both Google Pixel and Samsung Galaxy offer excellent wireless performance. You can seamlessly stream videos, play online games, and surf the internet without experiencing annoying lags or buffering.

Ultimately, the choice between Google Pixel and Samsung Galaxy comes down to personal preferences, budget, and specifications. However, it is clear from our comparison that when it comes to wireless performance, Samsung Galaxy S21 is the winner.
